When color of exhaust is espe-
cially bad
2 Fuel governing device bad.
9 Contact dealer for repairs.
2 Fuel is of extremely poor qual-
ity.
9 Select good quality fuel. Use
No.2-D diesel fuel only.
2 Nozzle is bad.
9 If necessary, replace with new
nozzle.
2Combustion is incomplete.
9 Cause is poor atomization, im-
proper injection timing, etc.
Possible causes are trouble in
injection system, poor valve
adjustment, compression
leakage, poor compression,
etc. Check for the cause.
When engine must be stopped
immediately
2 Engine revolution suddenly de-
creases or increases.
9 Check the adjustments, injec-
tion timing and the fuel sys-
tem.
2 Unusual sound is heard sud-
denly.
9 Check all moving parts care-
fully.
2 Color of exhaust suddenly turns
dark.
9 Check the fuel injection sys-
tem, especially the fuel injec-
tion nozzle.
2 Bearing parts are overheated.
9 Check the lubricating system.
2 Oil warning light comes on dur-
ing operation.
9 Check lubricating system.
9 Check if the engine bearing
clearances are within factory
specs.
9 Check the function of the re-
lief valve in the lubricating sys-
tem.
