7 MAINTENANCE AND CARE

edged, moving appliance
parts and into cutting tools.
Before maintenance,
care and cleaning work,
always switch off the
appliance. Remove the
rechargeable battery.
Always wear protective
gloves during mainten-
ance, care and cleaning
work.

Replacing the blade

Replacement blade: Art. no. 113479
Replacing the blade: see chapter 4.5 "Fitting/re-
moving the blade (09, 10)", page 29.

Changing the spool (15)
Replacement spool: Art. no. 113478, set of 2.
Precondition: The appliance must be switched off
and the rechargeable battery must be removed
from the basic appliance.
Inserting and pulling out the spool
1. Press (15/a) the two unlocking buttons (15/1)
at the same time and remove (15/b) the
cover (15/2).
2. Pull out (15/c) the empty spool (15/3).
3. Insert the new spool (15/3).
4. Thread the cutting line (15/4) through the
openings (15/5) of the cover towards the out-
side.
5. Put on the cover (15/2) and press on until it
engages.
6. Insert the rechargeable battery in the basic
appliance.

Bring the cutting line to the required length
1. Switch on the appliance.
2. Tap (11/a) the spool head (11/1) on the
ground from time to time. This unwinds a
piece of new cutting line from the spool.
3. Switch off the appliance and wait until the
cutter head has come to a standstill.
4. Check the line length.
5. Repeat the previous steps until the cutting
line has the required length.
8 STORAGE
Thoroughly clean the appliance after each use
and – if present – attach all covers. Store the ap-
pliance in a dry, lockable place out of the reach of
children.
Carry out the following jobs before intervals in
work lasting for longer than 30 days:
Clean the blade and spray with rust-proofing
oil.
Thoroughly clean the appliance and store it in
a dry place.

9 HELP IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION
