Safety information for operation

Before starting work, familiarize yourself with all equipment and operating
elements, as well as their function.
Wear close-fitting clothing and the required personal protection equipment.
Before starting up the machine, inspect the mechanical and hydraulic connections,
as well as the existing safety devices to ensure they are functioning properly.
Check the routing of the hydraulic hoses. Entanglement and squeezing of the
hydraulic hoses can result in injuries (e.g. from leaking hydraulic oil) or damage to
the machine.
Put the support elements into the proper position for installation and removal.
Always attach the existing ballast weights at the fastening points provided.
Observe the maximum permissible axle loads, gross weight and transport
dimensions.
Mount and check the transport devices, such as lights, warning and safety
devices.
Mount additional lighting equipment if the standard lights on the carrier vehicle are
covered when in transport position.
Before driving and before operation, check the immediate vicinity for people,
especially children, as well as animals and obstacles. You must ensure sufficient
visibility and sufficient safety distance.
No one is allowed to enter the work area of the hedge trimmer while the motor is
running.
It is prohibited to ride on the hedge trimmer during operation and transport.
For transport, collapse the hedge trimmer and the arm at the front or back of the
carrier vehicle and set it down. Raise the attached support wheels.
For transport, secure the control lever for the hedge trimmer in the carrier vehicle
against inadvertent actuation. Switch off auxiliary drives.
Never leave the driver's cab while driving.
Adjust the driving speed to the road and traffic conditions. When driving up- and
downhill and when driving crosswise to inclines, avoid sudden curves.
Take into account the effects of the attached hedge trimmer and the ballast weight
on the handling, steering and braking of the vehicle.
Operate the hedge trimmer only if all safety devices are attached and in safety
position.
The arm may be operated only if no one is within the turning and swivelling range.
Special caution must be taken when working beneath high-voltage power lines.
Keep a distance of at least 10 m from high-voltage power lines.
If you run into an obstacle, shut down the hedge trimmer immediately and check it
for damage.
Before leaving the transport vehicle, lower the hedge trimmer to the ground,
remove the ignition key and secure the carrier vehicle so that it cannot roll away.
The hedge trimmer can coast down after shut-off. Wait until the hedge trimmer
has come to a complete stop.
During breaks from work, lower the hedge trimmer to the ground and attach the
knife guard.
At hydraulically operated elements there are crushing and shearing points.
The hydraulic system can be under pressure.
Highly pressurized liquids (hydraulic oil) can penetrate the skin, causing serious
injuries. In case of injuries, consult a doctor immediately, due to the risk of
infection.
Connect hydraulic hoses only when the hydraulic system is in non-pressurized
condition.
