CMA charge amplifier

6.1 Function

The CMA charge amplifier is connected to the force transducer for signal
conditioning. This amplifies the electric charges to a proportional output signal
of -10 - +10 V DC (see the test certificate for accurate data). The supply
voltage, measurement signal, inputs and TEDS are connected to the
subsequent evaluating devices via the 8‐pin M12 device plug. The CMA
charge amplifier is designed for DC operation (18 ... 30 V). The electrical
circuit is intended for operation with a separated extra low voltage (SELV
circuit).
The functions of the charge amplifier can be changed via the
MEASURE / RESET and RANGE 1 / RANGE 2 inputs.
The charge amplifier is fitted with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet).
In keeping with the choice of measuring range (RANGE 1/ RANGE 2), the
valid TEDS information for the particular measuring range is forwarded to the
downstream evaluating electronics, if this is TEDS‐compliant. The High Level
Voltage template is used. For more detailed information, see Section 6.2.

MEASURE / RESET
With an input voltage of 0 V at PIN 3, the charge amplifier is in measurement
mode (MEASURE). If a voltage of 24 V is present at PIN 3, the charge
amplifier switches to RESET.
