Hot Apple Pie – 6 servings
Ingredients:
Pie base:
450 g shortcrust pastry baking mixture
Pie top:
500 g apples, peeled, cored, and cut into small pieces
5 ml (1 TBSP) ground cinnamon
50 g raisins
70 g icing sugar
1 pinch ground cloves
1 pinch ground nutmeg
Icing:
1 medium-sized egg, whisked
20 g icing sugar
Preparation:
1. Preheat the device to 200 °C/400 °F.
2. Prepare the shortcrust pastry as described in the package instructions.
3. Remove ¾ of the baking mixture from the pastry and roll it in out in a baking pan (23 cm in
diameter).
4. Shape the remaining quarter of the pastry into a roll.
5. Cut the rolled pastry length-wise into strips with a width of approx. 1 cm.
6. Mix the ingredients for the pie top.
7. Place the mixed ingredients for the pie top on the rolled out pie base.
8. Lay the pastry strips in the form of a lattice across the pie top.
9. Brush the pastry strips with the whisked egg.
10. Sprinkle the icing sugar over the pastry strips that have been brushed with egg.
11. Place the baking pan in the device.
12. Allow the cake to bake for approx. 20 to 35 minutes.
Serve the hot apple pie with ice cream or cream.
