Making an Emergency call

• To start an emergency call, press the emergency call button (1) on the
back of your mobile phone for a few seconds until the acoustic sig-
nal sounds. The loudspeaker (speakerphone function) is automatically
switched on.

Text Messages (SMS)

You have the option of sending and receiving text messages, known as SMS
(Short Message Service), with your mobile phone. For questions about the
availability and costs of this service, please contact your mobile service pro-
vider.
The SMS function is only available when the SIM card is inserted.

Stipulating Storage Location for SMS

1. Use the key to select Menu  Messaging (key 3)  Message settings
(key 8).
2. Open Text message (key 3)  Preferred storage (key 5) .
3. Here you can choose between SIM and Phone. Use the
activate the storage location you want and confirm this with the key.
When you next save SMS, the stipulated storage location will be accessed.

Receiving SMS

You will be notified that you have received a new message (SMS) by an audi-
ble signal and a message as well as a letter symbol on the display.
• By pressing the key, you can read the SMS immediately or you can view
the SMS on the Messaging menu (key 3)  Inbox (key 2).
Sending SMS
By default, an SMS consists of 160 characters. If you exceed this
number, more SMS will be sent accordingly.
