PIN and PUK

The PIN (Personal Identification Number) is used to secure the SIM card
against unauthorised use. The PIN can be changed to anything you want (four
to eight digits) (see the "Options on the Settings Menu" chapter, "Security
Settings" section). If the PIN is entered incorrectly three times, you require
the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code to unblock the SIM card.

PIN2 and PUK2

The PIN2 code also consists of four to eight digits and is required with some
SIM cards in order to be able to access certain functions (e. g. call number
restriction). You also obtain the PIN2 code from the network operator.
The PIN2 can also be used with some mobile service providers to perform
certain functions such as topping up the credit account on prepaid SIM cards.
IMPORTANT: If a person finds out the PIN2, they can perform top-ups
directly and charge them to your bank account. You should therefore never
tell any other person what your PIN2 is!
The PUK2 is an eight-digit number and is required to unblock the PIN2.
