Activating and Deactivating the Keypad Lock

To ensure that, if keys are accidentally pressed (e. g. if the mobile phone is in
a bag), an unintended call is not made and other functions are not enabled,
you can activate the keypad lock.
• Press the and then the * key in quick succession to activate or de-
activate the keypad lock. When the keypad lock is activated, a small lock
symbol is shown at the top left of the display.

Adjusting the Volume

You can use the +/- keys on the left-hand side of the mobile phone (16) to
set the volume of the keytones, the ringtone and the receiver.
• Press the + key to increase the volume.
• Press the - key to reduce the volume.

Entering Texts

• Several letters or other characters are assigned to each key of the keypad.
You can access each individual character by pressing the corresponding
key several times briefly and in rapid succession. For example, if you press
the 4 key three times in quick succession, you get the letter "I".
• You can enter punctuation marks with the 1 key.
• You can enter a space with the 0 key.
• If you press the * key, the available special characters are displayed. Select
one using the arrow keys and press the key to enter it into the text.
• With the key you can delete the last letter/number in each case.
• By pressing the # key, you can switch between
– English capitals (ABC) and lower-case letters (abc),
– Spanish capitals (ES) and lower-case letters (es),
– French capitals (FR) and lower-case letters (fr),
– German capitals (DE) and lower-case letters (de),
– Italian capitals (IT) and lower-case letters (it),
– numbers (123).
