Parameter data
The parameter data that the device receives via the fieldbus overwrites
the parameter data set on the device!
Pressure regulators are available in variants
W
With parameters (PLC configuration keys K and M) and
W
Without parameters (PLC configuration keys L and N).
For pressure regulators with parameters in the "Smart" type, the following settings
are available:

10 Commissioning the AV-EP
Pressure Regulator
Before commissioning the AV-EP pressure regulator, you must first assemble
the valve system and connect it to your system (see assembly instructions for
the bus coupler and for the I/O modules, as well as the assembly instructions
for the valve system).
Danger due to loose screws, connections, or blanking plugs!
Danger of injury!
O Check all screws, connections, and blanking plugs before starting the system!
Danger of burns caused by hot surfaces!
Touching the surfaces of the AV-EP during operation could cause burns.
The temperature on uncoated metal can exceed 64°C and on polymers
can exceed 85°C.
O Let the device cool off before working on it.
O Do not touch the device during operation.
Shortened product service life if operated without operating pressure!
Operation with the supply voltage and set point applied, but no operating
pressure, can result in a shortened product service life.
O Never operate the device without compressed air.

CAUTION
NOTICE
Commissioning may only be carried out by qualified electrical or pneumatic
personnel or an instructed person under the direction and supervision
of qualified personnel (see "Qualifikation des Personals").
O Always observe the system documentation when commissioning the relevant

system component.
PE
1. Make sure that the system is not under pressure.
2. Check all screws, connections, and blanking plugs once more before starting
the system.
3. Switch on the power supply.
4. Check the LED displays on all modules.
– The UL and UA LEDs must be green before switching on the operating pressure.
– The DIAG LED must be off before commissioning.
If the LEDs are in the correct state:
5. Switch on the compressed air supply.

12 Installation Conditions

Mechanical installation conditions
Exceeding the number of base plates!
With more than 16 valve positions on the valve system, damage can occur
if the valve system is subject to oscillations and vibrations during operation.
O To stabilize the valve system, install additional retaining brackets (36)
(see Fig. 11). The valve system does not need to be disassembled for this step.
Rule of thumb: If there are 17 or more valve positions, an additional retaining
bracket is required for every additional 8 valve positions.
Example:
– 17 valve positions = 1 retaining bracket
– 25 valve positions = 2 retaining brackets
– 33 valve positions = 3 retaining brackets, and so on
The width of an AV-EP base plate corresponds to the width of four valve positions.
You can purchase retaining brackets from our sales department or through
our online catalog using the order number R412018339. Follow the enclosed
assembly instructions.
