TRACTOR ADJUSTMENTS

9.13 STEERING STOP BOLTS

Do not adjust the stop bolts until the "toe-in" and steering
cylinder have been adjusted. Refer to Figure 10I. See
Section 9.11 and Section 9.12.
1. Loosen both nuts (V) and turn bolts completely in
against mounting block.

9.14 TORQUE REQUIREMENTS___________________________________________________

1. Tie rod ball joints (2): 20 ft.lb., (27 Nm).
2. Steering cylinder ball joints: (2): 45 ft.lb., (61 Nm).
3. BLADE BOLT: 75 ft-lbs (101.7 Nm).
4. Rear wheel mounting bolts: 40-50 ft.lb., (54-68
Nm).
Front wheel lug nuts: 100 - 120 ft.lb., (135-162 Nm).
Retorque all wheel mounting hardware daily until
torque is maintained.

9.15 THROTTLE CONTROL ______________________________________________________

Tension on the throttle control can be increased by
tightening the control lever pivot screw.
9.16 2WD – 4WD CONTROL
1. Adjust actuating rod (Z) so tractor shifts into 2WD at
approximately 0.5 mph in reverse wheel direction.
2. Lift seat for access to control linkage and loosen
nuts (Y). Turn rod (Z) clockwise to decrease or
counterclockwise to increase engagement into 2WD.
3. Tighten nuts (Y) and test drive machine; readjust if

TEXTRON TURF CARE AND SPECIALTY PRODUCTS
2. After adjusting turning radius, rotate motor mounts
left so steering cylinder rod is completely retracted
or right so cylinder rod is completely extended.
3. Adjust bolt until it just makes contact with the
steering stop arm. Tighten nut against mounting
block.
Jacobsen uses grade 5 bolts as standard (minimum
commercial quality). Do not use a lower quality than that
specified with the product.
Refer to the inside of the front cover for general torque
values.
Recommended torques (±10%) are for these grades of
fasteners. Use these specifications unless otherwise
noted.
