7.11 HYDRAULIC OIL

1. Park the tractor on a flat and level surface, fully lower
implements to ground and stop engine.
2. Oil temperature should be at 60°F - 90°F (16° -
32°C). Do not check oil level when oil is hot.
3. The oil level should never be below the half way
mark on the lower sight gauge (located on the left
side of the oil tank).
4. To drain the oil, disconnect hose (D) at the control
valve (C). Allow tank to drain into a container (20
gallons).
5. Refer to Section Section 5.3. for specific mainte-
nance intervals.
a. The hydraulic oil system must be completely and
thoroughly flushed after a major component fail-
ure.
b. Change the oil and filter if you notice the pres-
ence of water, foam, or a rancid odor (indicating
excessive heat).

7.12 HYDRAULIC OIL COOLER

1. Loosen oil cooler pivot hardware and tilt cooler (G)
forward. Place a work light behind the cooler to
inspect the air passage through the cooler fins.
2. Open trap door (J) under the radiator then place a
deflector shield (F) between the radiator (E) and oil
cooler (G) to prevent blowing debris into the radiator
a. Use compressed air up to 30 psi (206 kPa) to
clean the fins. A special blow gun (H) is available
as an optional accessory.
b. Direct air stream from the rear of the cooler
towards the deflector shield and out the trap
door. Clean the entire oil cooler.
c.
Clean the trap door and the entire compartment
below the oil cooler.
d. Remove deflector, place the oil cooler in the
upright position and tighten pivot hardware.
Close trap door.

top of the hydraulic oil tank support assembly.

Use the correct Jacobsen hydraulic oil. Refer to
Section 5.3.

3. Keep the radiator clean and the fan belt properly
adjusted to insure proper air flow.
4. If you cannot clean the air passage with a blow gun,
contact an authorized Jacobsen Distributor for addi-
tional instructions.
