7.1.1 Cleaning the trough and the water level sensor

1. Switch off the machine at the production switch (Position "Produktion aus/off) and pull the power plug.
2. Remove any ice remaining in the storage container. Ice for consumption must not come into contact with
the detergent.
3. Adequately wet a clean sponge or cloth with WESSAMAT special cleaner and wipe the vertically positioned
trough by reaching through the storage container. Repeat this procedure several times. Keep wetting the
sponge or cloth with WESSAMAT special cleaner as required. Allow a few minutes for the special cleaner
to act.
4. Immerse the sponge or cloth in soap water and wipe the trough in order to neutralise the special cleaner.
5. Clean the trough with clear water. Use a clean sponge or cloth. In case of persistent soiling and deposits,
this procedure (3.-5.) has to be repeated several times.
CAUTION: Almost all cleaners contain acids which can cause corrosion. Therefore, all parts that have
been treated with cleaner must be rinsed thoroughly.
6. Now clean the water level sensor. Clean the three vertical sensors from below using a standard abrasive
cloth, thus removing any lime deposits.
7. Plug in the power plug and switch the machine on again at the production switch (Position "Produktion
ein/on").

7.1.2 Cleaning the storage container

1. Switch off the machine at the production switch (Position
"Produktion aus/off").
2. Remove any ice remaining in the storage container. Ice
intended for consumption must not come into contact with the
detergent!
3. Remove the metal plate inserts for draining the condensation
water from the storage container.
4. Thoroughly spray the storage container and the metal plate
inserts with WESSAMAT special cleaner and allow a few
minutes for the cleaner to act.
5. Rinse the storage container and the metal plate inserts with
clear water in order to remove the special cleaner and
dissolved deposits. Neutralise the remaining special cleaner
residues with soap water. A sponge or cloth may be used for
this purpose.
6. Place the metal plate inserts into the storage container.
7. Start up the ice cube maker by switching on the production
switch (Position "Produktion ein/on").
CAUTION: Almost all cleaners contain acids which can cause
corrosion. Therefore, all stainless steel parts that have been treated with cleaner must be rinsed
thoroughly.
CAUTION: Remove and discard the first two or three ice cube batches from the storage container,
since they may contain cleaner residue and may therefore not be suitable for consumption.

7.1.3 Cleaning the condenser fins

(air-cooled units only)
a. Air-cooled, free standing units (version L)
1. Switch off the machine at the production switch (Position
Produktion aus/off").
2. Loosen dirt particles, dust and fluff that may have deposited
on the condenser fins using a brush with coarse bristles (not a
metal brush!). For persistent deposits on the fins, use
compressed air. Then use a vacuum cleaner to remove the
dust.
3. Spray grease deposits (particularly when the machine is
located in kitchen areas) with a fat-dissolving cleaning
solution, allow some time to act, then rinse with warm water
(ensure that cleaning solution or water do not come into
contact with electrical components). Blow-dry the condenser
fins with compressed air (if very wet) or rub dry with a cloth.
4. Switch on the machine on the production switch (Position "Produktion ein/on").
