2. General safety notes

The operating instructions and all safety-relevant documents should be kept in a generally accessible place at
all times. In addition to the operating instructions, the general and local accident prevention and environmental
protection regulations must be made available and followed. Keep all safety and hazard signs on the machine
in a legible state and replace if necessary.

2.1 Machine operation

The ice cube maker is a state of the art piece of equipment and has been produced according to recognised
safety specifications. However, during its operation danger to the operator or third persons or impairment of the
machine and other property may occur. The machine must only be operated in faultless condition and only for
its designated purpose. Any faults that may have an impact upon safety must be rectified immediately.

2.2 Safety measures during operation

The operators should receive regular training about proper operation (commissioning, cleaning, shutting down
etc.) of the ice maker. The machine should only be operated with all safety devices in working order. During
operation, ensure that no persons are put at risk as a result of the operating machine.

2.3 Risks from electricity

E
Work on the electrical installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
N
The electrical equipment of the machine should be checked regularly in accordance with the relevant
G
regulations. Loose connections or damaged cables must be rectified immediately.
L
Water hoses or high-pressure cleaners may cause a short-circuit and must not be used.
I
S
CAUTION: Since the power plug has a power disconnection function, it must be freely accessible after
C
the device has been installed or built-in. If this is not the case, a cut-off device must be provided by the plant
H
operator which is effective for all poles, e.g. fuses with at least 3 mm contact opening, which can be used to
isolate the equipment from the power supply when repair and installation work are carried out.
E
N
It is also recommended that the machine should be connected to the power via a fault current circuit breaker.
G
L
CAUTION: When working on the inside of the machine, please ensure that the machine and electrical
I
equipment are current-free (disconnect power plug or remove fuse provided by the customer). Protect
S
the machine and equipment against being switched on again!!

2.4 Refrigerant circuit

A
Work on the refrigerant circuit may only be carried out by a qualified refrigeration mechanic.

2.5 Fire fighting

A
In the event of a fire, the machine must be switched off, because otherwise it is possible that electrical fires
I
cannot be dealt with effectively. At high temperatures, the refrigerant used can create dangerous
S
decomposition products!

2.6 Handling of WESSAMAT special cleaner

The cleaner should be kept out of reach of children. Follow the cleaning instructions and notes described in
chapter 7.1. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with running water and seek medical advice. If
swallowed, drink plenty of water and seek medical advice. Please also note the safety data sheet supplied with
the cleaner.

2.7 Lubricants

If it should become necessary to lubricate moving parts of the machine, please use lubricants approved for the
food and beverage industry (e.g. Klüber Lubrication "Polylub WH2" or Interflon "Fin Lube Tf").
