Operating instructions

2. General safety notes

The operating instructions and all safety-relevant documents should be kept in a generally accessible place at
all times. In addition to the operating instructions, the general and local accident prevention and environmental
protection regulations must be made available and followed. Keep all safety and hazard signs on the machine
in a legible state and replace if necessary.

2.1 Machine operation

The ice cube maker is a state of the art piece of equipment and has been produced according to recognised
safety specifications. However, during its operation danger to the operator or third persons or impairment of the
machine and other property may occur. The machine must only be operated in faultless condition and only for
its designated purpose. Any faults that may have an impact upon safety must be rectified immediately.

2.2 Safety measures during operation

The operators should receive regular training about proper operation (commissioning, cleaning, shutting down
etc.) of the ice cube maker. The machine should only be operated with all safety devices in working order.
During operation, ensure that no persons are put at risk as a result of the operating machine.

2.3 Risks from electricity

Work on the electrical installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The electrical equipment of the machine should be checked regularly in accordance with the relevant
regulations. Loose connections or damaged cables must be rectified immediately.
Water hoses or high-pressure cleaners may cause a short-circuit and must not be used.
WARNING: The on/off switch on the back of the machine is not meant as power grid separator. This switch
only disconnects the power supply of the PCL. In case of repairs and installation services the machine has to
be cut off completely from the power grid. It is recommended to connect the machine via a residual current
circuit breaker.
WARNING: When working on the inside of the machine, please ensure that the machine and electrical
equipment are current-free (disconnect power plug or remove fuse provided by the customer). Protect the
machine and equipment against being switched on again!!

2.4 Dangers through mechanical and mobile parts

Operations on mechanical parts of the machine are only to be executed by a specialist. Before removal of the
coverage it must be ensured that the machine is switched off.
WARNING: Danger of trapping hands at the v-belt and its gear.
WARNING: Danger of trapping hands on ejection mechanism on the upper side of the freezing unit.

2.5 Refrigerant circuit

Work on the refrigerant circuit may only be carried out by a qualified refrigeration mechanic.

2.6 Fire fighting

In the event of a fire, the machine must be switched off, because otherwise it is possible that electrical fires
cannot be dealt with effectively. At high temperatures, the refrigerant used can create dangerous
decomposition products!

2.7 Handling of WESSAMAT special cleaner

The cleaner should be kept out of reach of children. Follow the cleaning instructions and notes described in
chapter 7. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with running water and seek medical advice. If
swallowed, drink plenty of water and seek medical advice. Please also note the safety data sheet supplied with
the cleaner.

2.8 Gear oil

The gear of the freezing unit must be filled with gear oil type EP 320. When working with the oil, you should
consider the general Safety Precautions of the manufacturer. Please handle the oil with care in order to avoid
oil contamination of the machine parts in touch with the ice.
