5.5 Pre-commissioning check

Prior to first commissioning and after prolonged periods of non-operation (e.g. company holiday or transport)
the ice cube maker should be cleaned (see chapter 7), and checked and its proper function testified by a
specialist.

5.6 Commissioning

Open water tap (water cut-off valve) and activate on/off switch on the back of the machine. Start production by
pushing the button "A" of the operation display. The production will start automatically after a prefixed waiting
period.
WARNING: The ice which is produced in the first 10-15 minutes is not meant for consumption for hygienic
reasons. Please remove this ice from the storage bin or intermediate storage and transport cart.

5.7 Functions of PLC

The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) with display controls the program sequence and the handling of the
ice machine. It shows the latest states of the ice maker, displays failure reports and indicates when a cleaning
should be executed.
Original state:
After switching on the machine by the on/off switch on the back of the machine the following message is
displayed: "Start = Taste A
Production:
In order to start production, please push button A in the original state of the machine. After a factory-provided
safety waiting period the machines goes into production. During the waiting period the message "Bitte Warten
- Start Eisproduktion in xxx sec" is displayed (instead of xxx the waiting time is shown).
After lapse of this waiting period the machine starts producing ice. Then the display shows the message:
"Produktion Stop mit Taste B" .Ice is being produced as long as the storage bin is full and the production is
stopped by the light barrier. Then the PLC changes its state to „Wait". The message "Vorratsbehälter voll" is
displayed.
As soon as the light barrier releases production (after ice take-out or melting of the ice), the machine starts
reproducing ice.
The production can be stopped with button B at any time. When pushing button A again, the production will
restart after the above described waiting period for safety reasons.
During pauses in operation which last more than 2-3 days, the ice cube maker should be taken out of operation
as a matter of course CAUTION: power voltage is still connected! This allows you to save electricity and
water.

6. Operation

The Micro Cube ice makers are being manufactured and checked according to the latest state-of-the-art.

6.1 Assembly

6.2 Mode of operation

The ice cube maker consists of an integrated procedure, composed of:
•
Dosing system which supplies freezing unit with water
•
Cooling system, which evaporates and liquefies the refrigerant
•
an electronic part which controls and drives everything
the freezing unit, which turns water into ice
