The highly precise stainless steel worm shoves the ice in the water bath upwards. The shoved ice is then
pressed through the pressing core and compressed. An ejector cuts the Micro Cube ice cubes into their unique
shape.

7. Care, Cleaning and Maintenance

7.1 Decalcification of the freezing unit

In order to ensure faultless and hygienic operation of the machine, it should be cleaned and checked regularly
depending on local conditions and water quality. The cleaning intervals are determined by the PLC. In case a
cleaning is necessary the display shows the message "Reinigung" .The machine can still be operated, but
should be cleaned then as soon as possible.
Improper decalcification roughens the surface of the conveyor worm. The ice can no longer glide over
the surface but freezes to it. The freezing unit is blocked.
NOTE: For effective cleaning and disinfecting, and for quick and lasting removal of deposits (lime, rust, iron,
manganese) we recommend using the ready-to-use special cleaner from WESSAMAT. It can be ordered from
specialised dealers or directly from WESSAMAT.
Only the proper and precise decalcification goes easy on the conveyor worm!
Please proceed as follows:
For air-cooled and water-cooled models:
1. Stop production with button B.
2. Remove front metal sheet and cover.
3. Drain off all the water from the freezing unit (going automatically).
4. Rinse freezing unit with warm water.
5. Wear safety goggles and safety gloves.
6. Provide decalcification mixture in a flask.
7. Push the cleaning button (red button besides the PLC).
8. The message "Q2 ausschalten" is shown on the display.
9. Switch off motor protection Q2 by hand.
10. The message "Reiniger einfüllen" is shown on the display.
11. Fill in the provided cleaning mixture slowly from above into the water bath.
12. The message "Reinigungsprogramm läuft" is shown on display.
13. Wait until the cleaning program is done (many times of rinsing and emptying).
DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE DURING THE CLEANING PROGRAM!
14. Repeat in case of strong lime deposits.
15. After end of cleaning program the message "Störung Q2 Motorschutz Verdichter" appears in the
display.
16. Re-activate motor protection Q2 by hand.
17. Cleaning process is finished.
18. Start machine with button A.
WARNING: After about 10-15 minutes of production time after the cleaning the ice in the storage bin has to be
removed, as this ice may contain residues of cleaning agents (cleaner) and is not fit for human consumption.
