Intended use

The power supply is a combination of an automatic charger
and an automatic battery separator. It serves for current
distribution and for charging 12 V lead batteries with a battery
capacity of 50 to 160 Ah consisting of six separate cells
(e.g. car battery). The 230 V circuit breaker replaces the 230 V
input fuse.
The device is designed for installation in caravans, campers
and boats.
Improper use
Do not use for 6 V batteries or non-chargeable
batteries!
The power supply must not be used to charge 6 V lead batter-
ies. Gasification starts immediately if batteries with a nominal
rating of 6 V are charged with the electrical power supply. Ex-
plosive oxyhydrogen gas is generated.
The power supply must not be used to charge non-recharge-
able batteries and / or nickel-cadmium batteries. When charg-
ing these battery types with the power supply, the outer cover
may rupture explosively.

Description

The electrical power supply is a product of state-of-the-art
microprocessor-controlled switching power supply techno-
logy. This technology permits high output together with low
weight and small dimensions. By using high-quality electron-
ics, it operates with high efficiency. Automatic charging af-
fords protection and prevents harmful battery overload. This
considerably extends the life of the battery. Once connected
to the battery and the mains, the power supply is ready for
operation.
The power supply is designed for permanent operation and
parallel mode. At all times, consumers can remain connected,
be added or switched off. Consumers are supplied with the
power and the battery is charged at the same time. Consumer
current should be lower than the maximum charging current,
otherwise the battery will not be charged.
If the electrical power supply is operated together with a tem-
perature sensor for the supply battery (Battery II), the electrical
power supply regulates the charging voltage automatically
depending on the temperature of the battery. This ensures a
particularly effective and gentle charging process for the bat-
tery. When not using a temperature sensor, the power supply
controls the charging process as if the battery temperature
was 20 °C.
The device is designed for operation in ambient temperatures
of up to 35 °C. If the temperature inside the device rises due
to a lack of air circulation or due to high ambient temperature,
the charging current is automatically reduced in steps.
