OBSTACLE DETECTION FUNCTIONING

The gate can detect an obstacle in two ways:
A- Detection by additional safety device (photocell or mechanical strip)
Interior device
During opening: if the interior device detects an
obstacle during opening, the gate comes to a stop.
Once the obstacle disappears, the gate opens
completely after a few moments.
The flashing light goes off.
During closing: if the interior safety device is activated
during closing, the gate comes to a stop. Once the
obstacle disappears, the gate opens completely after a
few moments.
The flashing light goes off.
B- Direct detection (built-in safety): operator model VULCAN VUS (DIP12=ON)
The ERREKA operator, VULCAN VUS model, is fitted
with a patented safety device which detects collisions.
DIP9 should be in OFF position.
C- Direct detection (built-in safety): electromechanical operators (DIP9=ON)
When using electromechanical operators, the control board (DIP9=ON) obstacle detection system (anti-crushing) can
be activated.
The obstacles are only detected when the gate has come to a complete halt.
Operation varies depending on the position of DIP8 (soft stop):
During closing with DIP8=ON: once the gate has
stopped after detecting an obstacle, it inverts operation
direction and recedes to the initial gate open position.
Obstacle detection only takes place in the quick
speed section; it does not take place in the soft stop
sections.
During closing with DIP8=OFF: once the gate has
stopped after detecting an obstacle, it remains shut
down as if at the end of its run. The next operation will
be opening, whenever an operation command is
received.
Obstacle detection can take place at any point
during travel.

DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY

Erreka Automatismos declares that the VIVO-M101(M)
control boards have been designed for use in a machine
or for assembly along with other elements in order to
form a machine in line with Directive 2006/42/EC.
VIVO-M101(M) control boards allow the carrying out of
installations in line with Standards EN 13241-1 and
EN 12453.

Installation Manual
Exterior device
During opening: the gate continues to open even
when the exterior device detects an obstacle.
During closing: if the exterior device is activated
during closing, the operator stops and the gate begins
to open immediately.
During closing it causes a halt and reverse movement.
During opening it causes an immediate halt.
During opening with DIP8=ON: once the gate has
stopped after detecting an obstacle, it inverts operation
direction and recedes slightly. If in step-by-step mode,
it remains on standby until an operation command is
received. If in automatic mode, timing for automatic
closing will begin.
Obstacle detection only takes place in the quick
speed section; it does not take place in the soft stop
sections.
During opening with DIP8=OFF: once the gate has
stopped after detecting an obstacle, it remains shut
down as if at the end of its run. The next operation will
be closing.
Obstacle detection can take place at any point
during travel.
VIVO-M101(M) control boards comply with safety
legislation, in line with the following directives and
standards:
• 2006/95/CE (low voltage materials)
• 2004/108/EC (electromagnetic compatibility)
• EN 60555-2
• UNE-EN 60335-1
