10.19 Setting the dialling procedure

There are two types of dialling procedure, dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) or pulse dialling (PD). Nowa-
days nearly all exchanges and telephone systems work with dual tone multifrequency which is consider-
ably faster.
This is also the factory setting. If you do however require the slower pulse dialling mode for some reason,
then you need to make the following adjustments.
If the dual tone multifrequency mode does not work, check your telephone's operating instruc-
tions or ask your network provider.

0 =
Dual tone multifrequency (factory setting)
1 =
Pulse dialling 33.3/66.6
2 =
Pulse dialling 33.3/66.6
3 =
Pulse dialling 40/10
The factory setting for the code is 0.
Explanation:
33.3/66.6 is the pulse-pause ratio 1/3 pulse and 2/3 pause. 10 PPS means 10 impulses per second.

10.20 Setting the signal transfer

This menu item allows you to activate the transmission of a signal tone or a voice message.
Information regarding the signal transmission:
• If the signal transmission is activated then the voice message you recorded cannot be trans-
mitted. You are only able to hear the number of programmed signal tones.
• After the alarm control centre has played back the signal tones for 20 seconds, there is a
longer signal tone. The room monitoring function can be activated by pressing 1 on a dual tone
multifrequency phone. You can now listen to the room for a preset period of time. After this
time period has passed there is another signal tone. Press the button 1 again and the room
monitoring will commence again. Pressing 9 ends the connection.
• If you do not confirm the first long signal tone, the signal tones will be heard again. This pro-
cess is repeated as often as you set in the menu item titled "Setting number of repetitions"
(Chapter 10.15).
• We recommend that you make no changes to the programming here, as the person called will
be more likely to understand the voice message than the signal tone transmission.
