CRANKCASE
5. Tighten:
• Crankcase bolts (M9 × 164 mm) 1 ~ 4
• Crankcase bolts (M9 × 105 mm) 5 ~ 8
TIP
Tighten the bolts in the order of the embossed
numbers on the crankcase.
• Tighten the crankcase bolts.
Crankcase bolt 1 ~ 8:
1st:
15 Nm (1.5 m · kg, 11 ft · lb)
• Loosen and retighten the crankcase bolts.
Crankcase bolt 1 ~ 8:
2nd:
15 Nm (1.5 m · kg, 11 ft · lb)
• Tighten the crankcase bolts further to reach
the specified angles.
Crankcase bolt 1 ~ 4:
Final:
Specified angle 85 ~ 90°
Crankcase bolt 5 ~ 8:
Final:
Specified angle 65 ~ 70°
È Crankcase bolt 1 ~ 4
É Crankcase bolt 5 ~ 8
WARNING
If the bolt is tightened more than the specified
angle, do not loosen the bolt and then retighten
it. Instead, replace the bolt with a new one and
perform the procedure again.
NOTICE
• Do not use a torque wrench to tighten the bolt
to the specified angle.
• Tighten the bolt until it is at the specified
angle.
TIP
On a hexagonal bolt, note that the angle from one
corner to another is 60°.
