The unit is designed for indoor use only. The room temperature should be between 5 °C and 40 °C.
Main supply voltage variations not larger than ± 10 % of the nominal value. Contamination degree 1 or
2 according to IEC 664 / section 3.7.3.

2.4 Safety information

Prestomat compact must only be operated with original spare parts and accessories. Only in this
way the performance data provided can be achieved and the required operational safety is ensured.
Hazardous voltages are fed inside the unit. Maintenance work and repairs must only be carried
out by service technicians authorized by DeguDent.
The unit must be protected against moisture in order to avoid short circuits and damage to the
unit. Do not expose the unit to water vapor.
The chamber is filled with a pressure of approx. 0.3 MPa. The casting chamber must not be
opened while it is under pressure. Do not touch the casting chamber during the casting process.
Do not look inside the melting furnace if the temperature is above 800 °C. For this purpose the
viewing glass that is included in the scope of delivery must be used.
Unplug the unit if it is not to be used for longer periods.

3 Putting into operation

Place the unit on a flat, solid base with a minimum distance of 10 cm to the wall or other objects. Do not
place the unit on flammable surfaces. Do not place any flammable objects near the unit. The crucible
stand that is included is suitable to store hot crucibles. Keep the unit away from dusty locations.
Connect the unit to the main supply. Be sure that the power supply corresponds to the electrical specifi-
cations of the unit.

3.1 Compressed air connection

At the rear of the unit is a pressure reducer with a compressed air inlet (B) for nylon or polyurethane hoses
with an outside diameter of 8 mm. Connect the unit to the compressed air supply with a pressure of
0.5 – 1.0 MPa. The hose connection should be short. In order to avoid hazards only compressed air
hoses that are suitable for the working pressure must be used. The unit features a rapid action hose
coupling. The compressed air hose must be plugged into the rapid action hose coupling to the stop.
Check the correct position by quickly pulling back the hose.
If moisture has been accumulated in the separator (C), press the discharge valve.
The pressure in the casting chamber (H) has been set to 0.3 MPa (± 0.03 MPa). Pressure that is
too low results in defective castings. Pressure that is too high may cause leakage. At a pressure
of more than 0.4 MPa the safety valve (A) is released.
