4. General User Information:

a. Intended Use
DeguDent Solaris is a device for fabricating crowns and bridge frameworks made of 99.9 % gold.
The process involves duplicating a die and casting it in plaster or plastic. A thin (200–300 µm) gold
layer is electroplated onto the duplicated die after conductive silver paint has been applied. The
prosthetic appliances are characterized by very high fitting accuracy with a minimal coating thickness.
To prevent plating defects, please ensure that work is done in an extremely clean environment and
follow the instructions. In addition, you should regularly clean the anode, electrode plate, heating
system, vessels etc. and immediately remove the residual electrolytes after each electroplating pro-
cess. A special anode cleaner (REF 2545 0055) is available from DeguDent for cleaning the anode.
b. Description of Components
• Anode: The anode is attached to the device with three connectors. It can be removed from the
device, e.g. for cleaning, with slight pulling.
• Cathode Holder: It contains 8 slots for holding the steel cathodes. 6 in the inner ring and 8 in
the outer ring.
• Heating System: This is a two-phase heating system that offers optimal heating performance
according to the liquid filling level. It is firmly attached to the device.
• Small and Large Beakers: They are required to hold the electroplating liquid. The small glass
is for small amounts of liquid (100 – 350 ml), while the large glass is for large liquid amounts
(350 –1000 ml), depending on the number of electrodes.
