5 The phone book

100 numbers including a name can be stored in the phone book in the mobile unit
(PRIVATE). The maximum length for a number is 20 characters. In addition, 20
numbers can be stored in the base station (SHARED), which are then available to each
mobile unit when several mobile units are in use.
TIP! The phone book in the mobile unit can also be used during a call. To do this, press
the OPTIONS display button and choose PHONE BOOK. In this way, you can pass on
numbers from your phone book to the person you are calling.

Entering numbers and names in the phone book

Press the NAME display button and the display will show the options PRIVATE
(mobile unit) and SHARED (base unit).
Using the cursor, choose which phone book you want to store the entry in and
press the OK display button.
Select ADD ENTRY with the cursor and again press OK.
Now enter the first line of the name with a maximum of 10 letters. You will find
information on how to enter names in the next section.
Select the second line of the display with the cursor and here enter the associated
telephone number with a maximum of 20 digits.
Select the third line of the display with the cursor and here choose your own call
tone for this number or select OFF.
Confirm with the SAVE display button and the phone book entry will be saved.
Note:
In addition, a ring tone can be assigned to each phone number stored. In this way,
o
you can tell who is calling you simply from the ring tone. This assignment will only
work when your telephone line and also the caller has the CLIP caller display
facility. In this case, it is possible that the mobile unit may first ring once with the
normal ring tone before the allocated tone is heard.
Numbers with the same name cannot be saved. In this case, the name that has

already been entered will be replaced with the new phone number following a
prompt.
When the memory capacity of one of the phone books has been used up, an

appropriate message will appear in the display.
How to enter names
The number keys are also printed with letters for entering names. Letters, as well
as numbers and special characters, can be entered by repeatedly pressing the
appropriate button. To change from uppercase letters to lowercase letters or vice
versa, simply press the
To enter a space, press the 1 button once.
To enter the same letter twice, press the appropriate letter and then wait until the
cursor automatically jumps to the next position.
