Before fi rst use
ATTENTION!
❐ Only use the device as described in these instructions. There may be some production res-
idues stuck to it.
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging. There is, among other things, a danger
of suffocation!
1. Unpack all parts and make sure that the product contents are complete (see chapter "Prod-
uct contents and device overview") and check for any damages from transport. If you identify
damages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact our customer service
centre.
2. Pull any foils and stickers off of the device.
3. Clean the kettle with a damp, soft cloth. To clean the kettle you can use a small amount of
mild detergent if needed and rinse the device off with clean, warm water afterwards. Dry it
off with a soft cloth.
4. On the bottom of the base you can wind up and unwind the mains cord to the desired length.
5. Place the base on a dry, water and heat-resistant, even surface with suffi cient space to fl am-
mable objects. Please ensure that the device is not accessible to children.
6. Insert the mains plug in a properly installed and grounded 220 – 240 V socket with earthing
contacts.
7. Fill the kettle with tap water up to the MAX mark and let it boil up (see chapter "Use"). Pour
the water away afterwards. Repeat this process twice.
The kettle is now ready for use!

ATTENTION!
❐ Scalding hazard! Caution: Risk of emitted steam! Be careful when pouring out hot water.
❐ When the device is in use or shortly afterwards, avoid any contact with the metal surface of
the device. It becomes very hot!
❐ Do not add more water than up to the MAX mark as water may spray out of the spout
during the boiling process otherwise.
❐ Make sure that the switch is not obstructed and that the lid is securely closed. The kettle does
not deactivate if the switch is obstructed or if the lid is left open.
1. If you have not already done so, place the base on a dry, level, solid, water and heat-resistant
surface and insert the mains plug in a properly installed socket.
2. Take the kettle off the base. Open it by pressing the button on the upper part of the handle
and fi ll the kettle with tap water. Make sure that the water level is between the MIN and
MAX marks. If there is not enough water in the kettle, the device will deactivate before
