Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffoca-
tion!
❐ Please note: You might notice a strange smell the fi rst time you use the device. We there-
fore recommend that you initially operate the device for a few minutes WITHOUT any
contents in order to burn off any production residues that may remain. During this time,
make sure the room is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!
❐ There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects to
your health, thoroughly clean the device before you use it for the fi rst time.
❐ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These may damage
the device.
1. Take the device out of the packaging and remove all fi lms and stickers that may be present.
Inspect the device for transport damage. If you notice any damage, do not use it(!), but
contact our customer service department.
2. Clean the baking surface of the device with a soft, damp cloth/sponge. Then dry the device
with a soft tea towel.
3. Unwind the mains cable fully from the cable mounts on the bottom of the device.
4. Place the device on a dry, heat-resistant, fl at surface at a suffi cient distance from other
objects and from the wall. Please make sure that the device is out of the reach of children.
5. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed and earthed 230 V mains socket with earth-
ing contacts. Make sure that the cable does not come into contact with the bak-
ing surface!
6. Slide the temperature control to the highest temperature setting.
7. Flip the On/Off switch to position 1. The device will now start to heat up. Leave it switched
on for approx. 5 minutes so that any possible production residues are removed.
8. Switch off the device by fl ipping the On/Off switch to the 0 position and pull the mains
plug out of the socket.
9. Allow the device to cool down and then clean it again.
