Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
■ Danger of suffocation from plastic fi lm and bags Keep children and animals away
from the packaging material.
■ Danger of injury Make sure that the device is not accessible to children or animals.
The mains cable must also be kept out of their reach. Otherwise they might use the
cable to pull the device down on themselves.
■ Clean the device in the manner described in this chapter. It is possible that production
residues may still be adhering to the surfaces.
1. Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness (see the "Items Sup-
plied and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If the base unit, plug,
mains cable or accessory does have damage, do not use the device(!), but contact
our customer service department.
2. Before using the device, remove all packaging materials and any labels that may be
on the device and are used for protection during transportation or for advertising.
3. Place the base unit on a dry and heat-resistant, fl at surface a suffi cient distance away
from fl ammable objects. To ensure that the air can circulate properly, there must be at
least 15 cm of clear space around the device.
An unpleasant odour may be produced the fi rst time the device is used. This is
normal. The odour should disappear after repeated use.
8. Switch off the device (fl ip the On/Off switch to the 0 position) and pull the mains plug
out of the plug socket.
9. Rinse the drying racks and the lid with clear water and mild detergent and then dry
them thoroughly. The drying racks and the lid can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
10. If necessary, wipe the base unit with a clean, damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
11. The device is now ready for operation!

4. Stack all drying racks empty on the base station and place
the lid on the top rack.
5. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed and earthed
220 – 240 V plug socket.
6. Turn the temperature control to the maximum temperature.
7. Flip the On/Off switch to position I and allow the device to
run for approx. 30 minutes.
