3.7. Safe handling of batteries

The remote control of the device requires a button cell battery. Please
note the following:
• Keep batteries away from children. They can be fatal if swallowed.
If a battery is swallowed, please obtain immediate medical assis-
tance.
• Do not throw batteries into a fire; do not short-circuit them and do
not dismantle them.
• If necessary, clean the battery and device contacts before insertion.
• Please note the polarity (+/−) when inserting the battery.
• Remove the battery if the device is not going be used for long pe-
riods.
• Remove spent batteries immediately from the device! There is an
increased risk of leakage!
• Do not expose the battery to extreme conditions; for example, do
not place the device on top of radiators! There is an increased risk
of leakage!
• Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries! There is a risk of
an explosion!
• Immediately remove leaking batteries from the remote control.
Clean the contacts before inserting a new battery. There is a risk of
chemical burns from battery acid!
• If battery acid has leaked out, under no circumstances allow it to
come into contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes! If
the acid does come into contact with skin, immediately rinse the
affected areas with plenty of clear water and consult a doctor im-
mediately.
