AHT Cooling Systems GmbH
• Keep a minimum distance to bordering walls and other units so that the air circulation is not impeded (for mini-
mum distances, see → Chapter 7).
• Do not use any mechanical devices or other means (scraper for example) to speed up the defrosting process
other than the ones recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
► Do not subject the unit to temperatures higher than a maximum of 70°C during storage and trans-
port.
► Avoid the transmission of pulsations and vibrations to the unit.
► Avoid the effect of external force on the unit such as careless operation of forklifts or floor cleaning
machines.
► Drilling into or other work on the unit is not permitted.
► Do not crush or bend the pipework.
• Do not operate any electric devices (e.g. wet vacuum cleaner) inside the refrigeration compartment that are not
models recommended by the manufacturer. Devices with an explosion protection label (see→ Chapter 1.2) are
allowed.
• No steam and high-pressure cleaners may be used for the basic cleaning (see → Chapter 1).
• Work on the electrical system and refrigerant circuit may only be performed by AHT authorised specialists (per-
sonnel trained in combustible refrigerants).
► The refrigerant circuit may only be opened and the refrigerant extracted in well-ventilated rooms
outside the market's business hours (without customer traffic) or outdoors.
► Disconnect the unit before any maintenance/repair (see → Chapter 9.2.1).
► Secure the unit against being switched back on.
► During the repair, a qualified person who knows the local conditions must be available as a contact
person to the specialists.
• Dispose of units with combustible refrigerant and units with insulating foam (polyurethane foam thermal insulati-
on with pentane) professionally. Inform yourself about the safety-related and legal disposal regulations from the
authorities responsible for you.
During product design, attention was given to make sure that AHT appliances are environmentally friendly and
easy to dispose of. Neither the R290 refrigerant nor the pentane propellant (for the insulating foam) have the
potential to breakdown ozone and do not contribute to the greenhouse effect.

1.6.3. Mechanical Hazards

• Transport the units with materials handling equipment. Danger of injury in the event of a collision.
► Observe the transport paths of materials handling equipment.
► Secure the goods being transported.
► Operation of the materials handling equipment only by trained persons.
• Danger of unit tipping. Persons may be trapped (see → Chapter 7).
► Only remove the transport pallet when it is in a stable, final setup position.
► If there are any questions, contact the maintenance service (see → Chapter 10.4).
• Disposal of packaging material and film. Danger of asphyxiation.
► Keep packaging material and film away from children.
► Do not allow children to play with it.
• Missing or not completely functional safety devices. Risk of injury from rotating parts,
for example.
► Check the safety devices to make sure they are complete and in working order.
► Protective devices and covers installed on the unit must not be removed.
• Walking on the surfaces of the unit. Danger of cuts if the material breaks. Danger of falling. Dan-
ger if being hit by falling products.
► Do not climb on or into the unit.
• Falling objects. Impact injury. Cuts if glass breaks.
► Do not put any objects on the unit.
• Improper installation of the displays/shelf displays. Danger of injury from the displays/shelf
displays with products falling down.
► Support brackets for displays/shelf displays must be snapped completely into place in the openings
designated for that purpose when they are hooked in.
