SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER
Excessive steam is coming out of the cooking valve during cooking:
1- The heat might be too high. Lower the heat as much as possible.
2- Cooking valve is clogged. After cooling down the pressure cooker, take it out and
clean.
3- The cooking valve may be worn out. Replace it with another from the manufacturer.
The lid cannot be opened:
1- If there still is pressure in the cooker, the safety lock is on. Try again after a while.
2- Cooling down slowly may produce the vacuum in the pressure cooker. Turn the
cooking valve slowly and carefully to "steam discharge" position and then try to open
the lid. Never force the lid to open.
3- The cooking valve may be clogged. Wait until the cooker cools down completely.
Steam discharges from around the lid:
1- Check whether the lid gasket is clean or damaged or not.
2- Place the gasket in the groove properly.
3- If the pressure in the pressure cooker is too slow the gasket may not hold the steam.
4- Press on the lid gently by hand when the cooking valve is "steam discharge" position.
If the steam still escapes around the lid change the gasket from the manufacturer.
Steam is not discharged through the cooking valve:
1- Cooking valve could be clogged. Cool down the pressure cooker completely and
disassemble the cooking valve according to the instructions, clean and assemble.
2- There can be no water left in the pressure cooker or you may forget to add some
water. Add at least a glass of water.
3- The gasket may be damaged. Check.
The lid cannot be locked:
1- Replace the gasket into to rim carefully.
2- If the food in the pressure cooker is already boiling, as the pressure inside the cooker
forces the lid upwards it will be difficult to lock the lid. Get the cooking valve to "steam
discharge" position and try to lock the lid by pressing it with your hand gently.
3- Lid mechanism may be damaged, take it to the store or the manufacturer.
HEAT SOURCES
Energy and time can be saved by reducing the cooking duration by turning the stove
down when the necessary pressure is achieved. In gas stoves, the level of flame should
not exceed the base of the pot. The diameter of the electric, induction, glass (on ceramic
stoves) cooking zone should not be larger than the base of the pot and the pot base
should be clean and dry.
