STEP 1
Measure the length of the header "P" between Uncutjoists
(Figure 15). Themeasurement shouldbedoneperpendicular t o the
ioists.
STEP 2
Cut to size 4 headers. Forthatpurpose usetimbersimilarinsizeto
existing joists.
STEP 3
Positio n oneheaderattheendof thecutoutioist(Figure 16). It must
fit tightlybetweenthe uncutioists. If neededusea hammerto set
the headerintheappropriateplace.
STEP4
Square theheaderto onejoistanddrive3 nails(16d)onbothends
and to the cutioist(Figure16).

n Positio thesecondheaderinfrontof thefirstoneand nailit (Figure
17).
STEP 6
Repeat s teps3-5 inorderto installheaders at theothersideof the
ceiling opening.
STEP 7
In orderto installother elements of the frameproceedto section
