3. Set the automatic/manual switch to automatic.
4. Turn on the automatic bottle sampler and the pump (if connected).
5. Look at the pressure/vacuum gauge and adjust the vacuum regulator
until the pressure gauge shows a vacuum.
6. Give the sample at least 1 minute do degas.
Note: Degassing time is different for fluids with different viscosities.

Fire and inhalation hazards. Potentially dangerous gases can be made
when samples are moved or analyzed. If there is any doubt about a
fire hazard or an inhalation hazard, keep the equipment under a fume
hood during the analysis.

Electrocution hazard. Do not disassemble the instrument for
maintenance. If the internal components must be cleaned or repaired,
contact the manufacturer.

Chemical exposure hazard. Obey laboratory safety procedures and
wear all of the personal protective equipment appropriate to the
chemicals that are handled. Refer to the current material safety data
sheets (MSDS) for safety protocols.
Use a fume hood when the instrument is maintained or cleaned.
Note: Always use clean (particle free) water or other appropriate liquid to clean the
instrument sampling system.
Flush the sampling system of the instrument at these times:
• When foreign material has entered or is suspected to have entered
the sampling system.
• Before any instrument component is opened for maintenance or
repair.
• Between the completion of one sample analysis and the start of
another.
How to clean spills
C A U T I O N
Chemical exposure hazard. Dispose of chemicals and wastes in
accordance with local, regional and national regulations.
1. Obey all facility safety protocols for spill control.
2. Discard the waste according to applicable regulations.
Flush the sampling system
Flush the system after sampling operations have been completed.
To switch from water based fluids to oil based fluids, flush the system
with three 20 mL samples of Reagent Grade IPA (purity 99% or greater).
