Figure 6 Connect pressure inlet and vacuum exhaust

Connect the power cord

D A N G E R
Electrical shock and fire hazards. Replacement power cords must:
• Have the correct plug style for the outlet connection
• Have a rating sufficient for the supply voltage and current. Refer to
the requirements in the Specifications section.
• Meet or exceed local electrical code requirements
The ABS 2 must be located within 2.1 m (7 ft) of the grounded electrical
power receptacle.
Do not use extension cords with the ABS 2.
Put the ABS 2 in a location to let the power switch be easily operated.
Do not connect the power cord to the power receptacle until all
connections are made and checked and the system is ready for use.
If an optional pressure/vacuum pump is used, connect the power cord
from the pump to the air pump power outlet.
1. Connect the power cord to the power receptacle on the back of the
instrument.
2. Connect power to the instrument. Refer to
Figure 7 Connect the power cords
Validate the instrument
Connect external equipment (according to the equipment
documentation), then complete the steps in this procedure.
1. Make sure that sensor power and communication cables are
correctly connected.
2. Make sure that the sample, drain, pressure, vent, vacuum and
exhaust ports are connected and capped, and there are no leaks.
3. Make sure that the line pressure to the ABS 2 is not greater than
60 PSI (413.7 kPa).
4. Make sure that the zero level detector is set to 0 on the sight tube.
5. Before sample fluid is run, flush clean (particle free) water through
the instrument and fix any leaks.
