g) Selecting the reference edge for a measurement
The clock symbol in the following diagrams indicates the duration for which a button
needs to be pressed (if necessary).
By default, measurements are taken from the rear reference edge of the device after it is
switched on.
• The current reference edge is indicated by the symbol (a) in the upper left corner of the
display. To switch between reference edges, press and hold the FUNC (2) for approx. 1
or 2 seconds. Each press alternates between the reference edges. A beep confirms each
change.
• Depending on the setting, the device length is taken into account in the displayed measure-
ment result.
For measurements from the rear reference edge, the device length is added automati-
cally. Changes in the length of the device will distort the measuring result.
