6 Description and function

6.1 Description of the pump (Fig. 1)
The Wilo-Stratos PARA high-efficiency pump is a series of glandless pumps
with "Electronic Commutated Motor" (ECM) technology and integrated,
electronic adjustment control which enables the automatic performance
adjustment of the pump to various system load conditions.
This guarantees the system's optimal efficiency during all operating and loading
conditions as well as the pump's highest possible energy savings.
The axially constructed control module (Fig. 1, Pos. 5) is situated on the motor
casing and enables two types of automatic performance adjustments:
• Integrated differential pressure control
• Revolution speed adjustment via an analogue signal 0 - 10 V
The advantages of electronic control are:
• Energy savings with simultaneous reduction of operating costs,
• reduction of noise caused by the flow,
• saving of differential pressure valves, e.g. in static heating circuits.
