7 Installation and electrical connection
Installation and electrical connection must be carried out in accordance with
local regulations and only by specialist personnel!
WARNING! Danger of personal injury
Existing regulations for the prevention of accidents must be followed.
WARNING! Danger of electric shock
Exposure to electrical currents must be eliminated.
Observe local or general regulations (e.g. IEC, VDE etc.) and the regulations
of your local energy supply company.
7.1 Installation
• The system/pump must be installed in a dry, well aired and frost-protected
room.
• Install only after completion of all welding work and after priming of the pipe
system, if required. Dirt can cause pump failure.
• We recommend the installation of shut-off valves in front of and behind the
pump. This would avoid the need to empty and refill the system during a
possible pump exchange.
• If installed at the inlet of open systems, the safety inlet must branch off at the
pump's discharge side.
• Install at zero potential. Pipes must be attached so that the pump does not bear
the weight of the pipes.
• The flow direction of the fluid must correspond with the direction triangle on
the pump housing.
• Only installation positions according to Fig. 2 are permitted. The pump shaft
must lie horizontally.
If special installation conditions require, the control module can be brought into
a horizontal position by turning the motor.
• Install the pump in an easily accessible place for ease of servicing.
7.1.1 Dismantling/installing the plug-in set
Releasing the motor requires loosening of the 4 M6 (SW5) socket screws (Fig. 1,
Pos. 6). These screws can be loosened with the following tools:
• Angled allen key
• Ball button allen key
• ¼-inch reversible ratchet spanner with matching bit
The motor does not have to be completely removed from the pump housing if
only the control module is to be repositioned. If there is enough space, the
motor can be turned to the required position whilst remaining in the pump
housing.
CAUTION!Danger of damage to the O-ring
Do not damage the O-ring located between the motor head and the pump
housing. The O-ring must not be contorted and must lie in the angled end
shield pointing towards the impeller.
