unten geklappt
ist.

the
unit

all
accessory parts
from
the
packing
sec-
tion.
Unrrew
the three transport
safety
screws
marked
with
a
red washer
(Fig. 1).
Please
keep
the original
packing
material
and
the
three
transport safety
screws
in
a safe place
as
they
may be
needed
later should
you
wish
to
transport the
unit.
Now
carefully
place
the platter
onto
the motor
spindle.
lnsert the.stem
of
the
counterweight
into
the
rear
end
of
the
tonearm.
Ensure
that the
V-shaped
groove
in the
spindle
is
pointing downwards
(Fig. 2).
Below
you
will find
a description
of
the
procedures
necessary
to
set
the
tuning
anti-resonator,
balance
the tonearm and
set
the tracking force
and
the anti-skating
force.
Please
refer
to
the
separate
data
sheet
containing information
on
the
required
tracking
force
for
the
cartridge
fitted
to
your
tu
rntabl
e.

Setting
the tuning anti-resonator
Your
Dual
record
player
has
a
tuning anti-resonator which
per-
mits
optimum
adaption
of
the
tonearm
to
the
cartridge
being
used
(Fig.
3)
.
Not
only
Dual
ULM
cartridges
but
also conven-
tional
112"
cartridges
with
a net weight
from2 to
109
can
be
optimally
adapted
with this
device.
The following table will
help
you
to find
the
setting
for the
ULM
cartridge
fitted
at
the factory
or
for
some
common
cartridges
available.
lf
your
cartridge
is
not
listed
in the
table
you
can
use
the
graph
to
help
you find
the
value required.
Select
the weight
of
the
cartridge
on the
horizontal
scale,
move
vertically
upwards
until
you
find
the
corresponding line
for
the compliance, and project
this point to
the
vertical
scale
from
which
you
can
then
read
off
the optimum
tuning
value.
You
can
find
details
of
weight
and compliance
in the
data
sheet
supplied
with your
cartridge.
Add the
weight
of
any
hardware
(screws,
spacing
bushes
and nuts)
to
the
weight of
the
cartridge. The weight
of
ULM
cartridges includes
all
hard-
ware.
ln
order
to
set
the tuning
anti-resonator,
turn
the
scale
ring
in
clockwise
direction
until you
see
the
determined
scale
value
above
the
notch (Fig.3).
ln this
case,
hold
the stem
with
one hand and
turn
the
scale
ring
with
the
other.
Note
lf
you turn the
damping
selector
toward
the
wedge-
shaped
marking
to
stop
position,
the tuning
anti-resonator
is
safe-guarded
against
transport
damage.
