Cue

(Pause)
Your
unit
is equipped
with
a
shock-free cue
control
silicone-
damped
in both directions.
Thus the tonearm can
be
lowered
to
any
desired
point
on the

more gently
than
is possible
by

Pitch control
Both
standard
speeds
33
113
and
45 rpm
may
be varied by
means
of
the pitch
control
(PITCH (17)).
With the
PITCH
control (14)
depressed
(the
letters OUARTZ
will not
be
illuminated), the
PITCH
control
(17)
may
be
used
to
adjust
pitch at
any
of
the two
speeds
within a
range
of
!55o/o.
The letters
OUARTZ will
be
illuminated
(Fig.

when
the
PITCH
button (14) is
in
off
position. With the pitch
control
in
this
position
the
speed
will
equal
the set
rated
speed
precisely
independent
of
the PITCH
control
setting (17).
An
LED (18)

a
quartz-controlled
flash fre-
quency illuminates
the
stroboscope
marking at the
edge
of the
platter. Thus
the

and
does
not
require
several
stroboscope

for
different

Tunable
acoustic isolators
When
operating a
turntable,
one
of
the most frequent compli-
cations
is
caused
by
vibrations
of
a varied nature which
reach
the
turntable
and
are
converted
to interfering
noise
by
the stylus.
For this
räuron,
the new
Dual
turntable
generation
is f
itted
with
tunable
acoustic isolators
(Fig.

1. Footfall
noise:
when
the turntable
is accommodated
in
a

furniture
(cabinet) standing
on a
vibrating floor
consisting
of wooden
planks.
2.
Acoustic
feedback: when
the
sound
waves
from
the speakers
are emitted directly towards
the
turntable
or if
the
turntable and
speakers
are
accommodated
on the
same

f.
At
the factory,
these adjustable
feet
are set
to
center
position.
You
can
optimize this adjustment
for
footfall
noise
absorption
or
for
acoustic feedback
absorption by turning the
scale
ring.
lf
you
are having problems
with footfall
noise,
turn
the

Alignment of groove

in
the
case
of
a

cartridge,
the
stylus
sets
down
too far from the
run-in
groove,
the

of
the
dlamond stylus can
be corrected
with the
alignment
screw (7).
lf
the
stylus
sets
down
too far
inside
or
outside
the
record,
turn the
alignment screw
to
the
left or
the right
accordingly
(Fig. 7).
The setting
is
effective not only
for
17 cm
but
also
for
30
cm
records.
Cartridge and stylus
Please
refer
to
the
enclosed data
sheet
supplied separately
with
your
unit.
Installing cartridges
Note:
lf
you
purchased
your
Dual turntable
with a
ULIV
cartridge,
it
has
already
been installed
and mounted
in
the
tonearm.
lf
you
wish
to
use
an
additional cartridge with
1|2-inch mounting
center, an
optional
mounting
kit
is
encluded
or
available
from your
Dual dealer
or
United Audio.
Replacing
the
cartridge
You
may
release
the
complete cartridge
from
the tonearm
by
pressing
the
tonearm
lift
to
the
rear. When
doing
this,
firmly
grip the
cartridge
as
it will
fall off
once
the locking
device
has
been
released
(Fig.8).
The
tonearm
lift
may,
however,
only
be moved
to
the
rear
if
you
have
previously
removed
the security
screw
(13) (Fig.9).
ln
order
to
replace
the
cartridge
you
must
place
it
from
below
against
the
head
shell
so
that the
front
edges
are
flush.
Please
ensure
that the
cartridge
lies
absolutely
flat
on the
head
shell
before pulling
the
tonearm
lift
to
the
front
in order
to
lock
it
in
position'(Fig.

9). You
may then,
if
desired,
reinsert
the
safety screw
(

Stylus
The stylus is
subject
to
natural
wear
and tear
during
normal
playing
Therefore,
we recommend
you
occasionally check the
stylus and,
in the
case
of
diamond
styli,
this should
be
carried
out
after
approximately
300
playing hours.
Your
specialist
dealer
will
be
pleased
to
do this
for you
free
of
charge.

Please
remember
that,
for
physical
reasons,
the
stylus holder
with
the
diamond stylus
is
extremely
fine
and
must therefore be
necessarily sensitive
to
impacts, shocks
or
uncontrol
led
movement.
When removing the stylus
please
note the

on
the

enclosed
data sheet
