Proper cleanup is the best way to ensure the
i
prolonged useful life of this machine.
6.1
shutdOWn, cleaning
Perform these steps while the unit is still hot. Do
i
not allow unit to cool first.
Wear personal protective equipment including
heat resistant clothes and gloves.
1. Upon completion of the working day, turn off the valve on
the LP tank by turning it clockwise.
2. Turn all remaining gas valve to the OFF position.
3. Check the remaining gas supply for the next day's work.
Always keep a spare tank of LP gas available.
4. Completely drain the kettle and scrape the top and sides
clean of any spillage.
Frequently scrape the inside of the kettle while
i
it is hot to prevent any buildup of resins in areas
where the agitator does not contact the tank
wall.
5. Remove the die while it is still hot and scrape as much
thermoplastic from it as possible. This level of cleaning
provides for a smooth startup the next day, so long as the
die does not have any heavy clumps of thermoplastic.
The die should always be stored in the fully closed
i
position. If desired, completely clean the die, but
contact the factory for information on the proper
cleaning solution.
6. If the unit is going to sit idle longer than overnight,
empty all the beads from the bead dispenser to prevent
contamination from moisture.
7. Frequently scrape the inside of the material tank while it
is hot to prevent any build up of resins in areas where the
agitator does not contact the tank wall.

6.2
lubricatiOn
This equipment produces very little load or
i
speed demand on the bearings. It is better to
lubricate the unit daily in small doses, rather than
one heavy dose weekly.
1. Lubricate the axle bearings, at least once for every 20
hours of operation with high temperature grease.
This procedure should not leave any excess grease on the
bearing.
