the nerve guide should be greater than or equal to the nerve
diameter. A secure knot must be tied in the suture, however
there should be no tension on the suture itself.
Using a syringe (see Figure 3), gently flush the lumen of the
nerve guide with sterile saline or Lactated Ringer's solution
USP. Repeat the suturing procedure for the other nerve stump
(see Figure 4). Repeat the flushing procedure as stated above
and fill the interior of the nerve guide with saline or Lactated
Ringer's USP (see Figure 5). Completed repair (see Figure 6).
