Pretreatment Cartridge
Installation
The pretreatment cartridge pack
used in arium ® 61316 is designed to
protect the two high-grade RO
modules.
Constructed of virgin polypropy-
lene, the twin chambered casing
incorporates an activated carbon
and catalyst followed by a 5 μm
(nominal retention rating)
polypropylene depth filter. This
combination reduces the levels of
particulate matter, free chlorine
and other oxidizing agents from
the feed water.
Note!
Under normal operating conditions,
pretreatment cartridges will require
replacement on a regular basis.
We recommend that you replace
the pretreatment cartridge every
3 months. A corresponding message
appears in the display. If a softener
has be installed because the water
is too hard, the pretreatment
cartridge should be replaced every
6 month.

1. Remove one pretreatment cartridge
from the box and remove packag-
ing.
2. Remove the shipping plug from
the connections on the cover of
the pretreatment cartridge.
3. Check to see whether the cartridge
is damaged.
4. Check that no water feed is
connected.
5. Place the cartridge holder for
connection on the cartridge
(see picture).
6. Wet the gaskets.
7. The angle on the quick-connector
prevents improper connection of
the cartridge. Be aware that the
safety bars are open.
8. Press the water connections firmly
into the cartridge ports and push
the lock lever firmly into its secure
position.
Note!
Push the adapter down onto the
top of the cartridge and make sure
that the hose connector is pressed
in completely. Guide the adapter
down vertically onto the cartridge.
Make sure that it is aligned
properly.
9. Place the cartridge in the arium
unit and make sure that it is
installed without kinking.
The installation of the prefilter
cartridge has been completed.
Note!
Prior to new installation, the
pretreatment cartridge has to be
flushed. For further steps please
follow the subsequent chapter
"Initial Operation", under
"Flushing".
