11. Anti-shock memory

The device is equipped with a digital anti-shock memory. This reduces the risk of interruptions during CD play-
back when the device is subjected to shocks.
The anti-shock memory is loaded automatically when audio data is read. The device needs a few seconds until
the memory is full to work optimally.
The saved data quantity corresponds to approx. 20 seconds of music. The anti-shock memory plays on the music
in case of blows that would otherwise cause an interruption.

12. Handling

Never plug the mains plug into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a cold to a
warm environment. The condensation generated could destroy the device. Allow the device to reach room
temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation water has evaporated.
Never disconnect mains plugs from the mains socket by pulling the cable. Always pull out the mains plug by
gripping it on the surfaces provided for this purpose.
Unplug the power supply if you do not use the device over a period of time.
For safety reasons, always pull the mains plug from the socket during a thunderstorm.
Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.

13. Maintenance

Regularly check the technical safety of the CD player, e.g. for damage to the mains cable or the casing.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and
make sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the power plug out of the power socket!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
there is visible damage to the device or to the power line
the device no longer functions
the product has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions
the device has been subjected to heavy transport strain
Before cleaning the CD tuner or servicing it, the following safety instruction must be observed:
Live components may be exposed if the covering is opened or components are removed.
The device must be disconnected from all power sources before carrying out any servicing
or repair work.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though they have been discon-
nected from all power sources.
