7. Setting up the device

Take care not to place the device in direct sunlight and protect it from vibration, dust, heat,
cold, and moisture. When setting up the device with other equipment, provide sufficient
ventilation. Keep sufficient distance to heat sources. Do not place the CD player close to
heat sources, e.g. an amplifier. Do not point any strong spots or light sources towards the
device. This may lead to overheating (risk of fire!).
Heat removal from the device must not be obstructed. Never place the device on soft surfa-
ces such as a carpet or a bed. Do not cover the ventilation openings of the device. Air cir-
culation must not be obstructed by objects such as magazines, table cloths, curtains or
similar. This prevents heat removal from the device and can lead to overheating (risk of
fire!).
Only operate the CD player on a sturdy surface that is not heat-sensitive.
Make sure you position the device safely. Falling devices pose a significant risk of accident.
Do not drill any additional holes or screw any additional screws into the casing to mount the
device. Hazardous live parts might be exposed.
Make sure that the connection cables are not squeezed or damaged by sharp edges. Always
install the cables so that no-one will trip over them or get caught in them. Risk of injury!
The cables must be of sufficient length. Avoid mechanical strain on the cables. This may
damage the cables or the device. Danger of fatal electric shock!
Due to the great variety of varnishes and polishes of furniture, the device feet might leave visible
marks on the furniture caused by chemical reactions. Therefore, the device should not be placed
on valuable furniture surfaces without suitable protection.
The CD player must be placed on a level surface. The inclination of the casing may not exceed 15°, otherwise
the CDs cannot be read properly.

8. Connection to the audio system

The CD player is equipped with AUDIO OUT RCA sockets (27) for connection to your audio system (e.g. mixing
desk).
Only use suitably shielded cables to connect the audio outputs. The use of other cables
might cause interferences.
To avoid distortions or mismatches which could damage the device, only connect devices
with the same connection type.
