10. Using the device
k) LOOP function
You can define a play loop. The starting and end point of the loop is set during playback.
•
At the desired starting point of the play loop, press the A button (6). The button lights up.
•
At the desired end point of the play loop, press the B button (7). Buttons A and B (6 and 7) are flashing.
•
The play loop is now played continuously until the B button (7) is pressed again.
•
Buttons A and B (6 und 7) light up to indicate a saved play loop. To start a saved play loop, press the
RELOOP button (8).
The current play loop is deleted when a new play loop is programmed or when the track buttons
l) Synchronising the playback speed
To mix or cross-fade two signal sources cleanly, the beats have to be synchronised in many cases.
This can be achieved in three ways:
•
Using the PITCH slide control (23). It allows you to permanently modify the speed. This function is used when
two tracks have two completely different tempos.
•
Using buttons PITCH BEND +/- (14 and 16). This allows you to change the speed temporarily. This function
is used when two tracks have the same beat but the starting point has to be synchronised.
•
Using the JOG wheel (2). By turning the wheel, you can change the speed temporarily. The speed change
depends on the turning speed of the JOG wheel. This function can also be used when two tracks have the
same beat but the starting points have to be synchronised.
PITCH slide control
•
Press the PITCH button (15) to activate the PITCH slide control (23).
•
Modify playback speed by moving the PITCH slide control (23) up or down. The percentage of the speed
change is displayed. Put the slide control in centre position for original speed.
PITCH BEND buttons
•
Hold down the respective PITCH-BEND (14 or 16) button during playback to alter the speed by up to 16%.
The PITCH BEND - button (16) reduces the speed.
The PITCH BEND + button (14) increases the speed.
•
The longer the PITCH BEND button is held down, to bigger the corresponding speed change.
•
When the button is released, the music is played at original speed or at the speed specified by the PITCH slide
control (23).
