A CAUTION!
Machine damage due to gumming of the
saw chain oil!
Gumming of the saw chain oil can lead to
damage to oil-channelling components
or the oil pump!
Remove the saw chain oil from the ma-
chine before each extended period of
storage.

A DANGER!
Danger of injury from damaged compo­
nents!
Damaged components can lead to se-
rious and even fatal injuries!
Before taking into operation, carry out a
visual inspection and check the compo-
nents for function.

Danger of fatal injury if the chain brake
is damaged!
This can lead to extremely serious and
even fatal injuries!
Check the function of the chain brake
each time before starting work.
Each time before starting work, check
the oil level and replenish saw chain oil
if necessary.
■ Comply with working time regulations in force
in your country.
■ Grip the rear saw grip firmly with your right
hand (right-handed operator) and the front
grip with your left hand, and hold them tightly.
■ Do not release the grips for as long as the
motor is running.
■ Before taking the chain saw into operation,
hook the extension cable into strain relief
(13).
■ Do not use the saw if you are:
■ Tired
■ Unwell
■ Under the influence of alcohol, medici-
nes and drugs

Release the chain brake each time be­
fore switching on the chain saw.
1. Press and hold locking button (14/1) with your
thumb.
2. Press and hold on/off switch (14/2).
It is not necessary to keep the locking
button pressed once the chain saw has
started. It is intended to prevent inadver-
tent starting of the chain saw.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
The chain saw complies with all relevant safety
standards. Repairs are only allowed to be perfor-
med by qualified specialists, and with the exclu-
sive use of genuine spare parts.
■ After each use, check the chain saw for wear
and renew any damaged components.
■ Do not get the machine wet or expose it to
moisture.
■ Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
■ Only use spare parts specified by the manu-
facturer.

Fatal electric shock hazard!
Touching live parts represents an imme-
diate danger of fatal injury from electric
shock!
Wear protective gloves and disconnect
the machine from the mains before all
maintenance and care jobs.
Sharpening the saw chain
WARNING!

Sharp edges can cause serious lacerati-
ons!
Wear suitable
resharpening the saw chain.
Inexperienced chain saw operators are
recommended to have the saw chain
sharpened by a specialist at the corre-
sponding customer service.
To achieve an optimum cutting result, it is ne-
cessary for the saw chain to be resharpened at
regular intervals.
