7.2.1 CLEANING THE AIR FILTER AND THE PLASTIC PARTS
The cleaning of the filter is a very important activity of ordinary maintenance; if it is clogged, the
cassette fan coil will have a bad filtration of the air, lower capacity and higher noise levels.
The cleaning operation of the filter must be done at regular intervals, depending on the real func-
tioning of the unit and on the amount of dust in the area where the unit is installed. It is advised
to do it at least once a month, anyway.
Clean with a normal vacuum cleaner, but if dust stubbornly adheres to the filter due to humidity or to
greasy deposits, wash the filter with a solution of neutral detergent and water and let it dry to the air.
If the air filter is damaged, replace it immediately.
Removing the filter
The filter can be easily reached by opening the air suction grill by pressing with a small screw-
driver the proper hooks (s. Par. 6.3.1). Pry with a tool and remove the filter. When installing
the filter, take care to replace it in the correct position. Then reposition the air suction grill.
Removing the filter with metallic grill
The filter can be easily reached by removing the air suction grill (through the specific
locker), which will remain attached from one side to the frame in order to make the
cleaning operation more comfortable. Loosen the four side screws, remove the brackets
and take out the filter (Fig.20 and 20a). To replace the filter proceed inversely to that
described above.
Do not replace the filter until it is perfectly dry.
The plastic parts of the unit must be cleaned only with warm water and neu-
tral soap.
7.2.2 ADJUSTING THE AIR OUTLET GRILLES
The air supply grilles are adjustable and they can be completely closed if needed, but not
more than two sides of the unit can be closed in the same moment (Enclosure 2). The
closure of the supply grilles is made with a special tool by levering on specific grooves.
Adjusting the air outlet grilles with metallic grill
The air supply frame is realized in white metal sheet and permits to distribute the air flow on
the four side of the cassette (in order to obtain the Coanda effect). Unlike the model with
the plastic suction grill the UCS/M 600 and UCS/HM 600 are not provided with air outlet
flaps for the deviation of the air flow, therefore the air diffusion is homogeneous on all the
four sides of the cassette.
In the UCS/M 600 and UCS/HM 600 model it is not possible to partialize the outlet air.
