3.3 Cylinder installation
NOTICE
The following installation procedure applies to both UC120E and UC120P-OBF models. Please consider that
UC120P-OBF cylinder is a port version.
CAUTION
During the installation phases use only stainless steel
tools to avoid the oxidation of the metal parts.

In case of single cylinder installation mount the sup-
plied caps on the cylinder body as shown in the picture.

With reference to the application instructions contained in the Ap-
plication Guide, position the screw (3) contained in the C1 bag (see par.
2.2) and connect the link arm to the tiller arm. Tighten the screw by
using a 16 mm wrench with a torque of 54[Nm] (39,8 [lb∙ft]). Thread
on the locknut (4) by using a 9/16" wrench and tighten it with a torque
of 27[Nm] (19,9 [lb∙ft]). After tightening the locknut (4), check for the
right torque 54[Nm] (39,8 [lb∙ft]) of the screw (3).
WARNING
Check that the maximum thickness of the outboard engine arm is
less than or equal to 11.4mm - 0.45" as required by mandatory rules.
Check that the nylon part of the self-locking nut (4) is fully gripped on
the screw thread (3).
WARNING
To tighten the screw (3) and the locknut (4) on the tiller arm ask your mechanic for the maximum torque al-
lowed. If it is lower than the one indicated in this manual, tighten with the torque indicated by the mechanic.
CAUTION
If the locknut (4) is disassembled, replace it. (Contact our assistance service, see page 6).
WARNING
It is important to check periodically, at least every 3 months (or every month for professional uses), the right torque
of this screw (3) and of the locknut (4).
