8. Commissioning

If the water pump system for home use is installed and operated in a stationary manner, we recommend
using suitable shut-off valves on the suction and pressure sides.
In order to better seal the screw connections, you may use a suitable threaded sealing tape.
• Connect the suction hose to the intake opening (9) (first remove the plastic cover from the intake opening).
Do not use any force for tightening the corresponding connection pieces.
Ensure that the suction hose does not mechanically stress the pump. Therefore, fasten the suction hose
separately; this applies specifically if the suction hose is very long. The suction hose should be as short as
possible to maximise the conveyor output.
All parts of the suction side must be tight, since air can otherwise be sucked in, which will lead to faults in
the pump or the pressure switch.
Fill the suction hose with clean water before connection to the water pump system for home use.
Use a suitable coarse and microfilter to keep dirt from reaching the pump or the pressure storage tank. This
also prevents dirt from getting into the lines on the pressure side.
Make sure that you use a suction hose protected against bending and vacuum. Such hoses usually have
a plastic or metal spiral in the jacket. Pressure hoses are unsuitable for the intake side.
The suction hose must be placed so that it rises towards the suction opening. This prevents the occurrence
of air inclusions.
Always install a back flow stop at the end of the suction hose. This not only makes suction easier and
faster at first commissioning of the water pump system for home use, but also keeps water from draining in
regular operation when the pump is switched off. This reduces the re-priming time.
Place the end of the suction hoses in water so that it is always under water and the water pump system for
home use does not suck in any air.
• Connect the outlet opening (2) to the pressure line, e.g. towards a garden watering system or the water supply of
your toilet cistern (first remove the plastic cover from the outlet opening).
Do not use any force for tightening the corresponding connection pieces.
Ensure that the pressure line does not mechanically stress the pump.
All parts of the pressure line (hose, connections/connectors, etc.) must be pressure-safe and tight. Unsuit-
able hoses may burst; this poses a danger of injury! Escaping water may also cause damage!
Fill the pump with clear water. There is a filling opening (10) for this at the top of the pump. Close it carefully
after filling. The pump may be filled with water via the outlet opening (2).
In order to minimise the transfer of vibrations, the water pump system for home use should be connected
to a pipe network via a flexible pressure line.
