The Ultrasonic Handpiece, Ultrasonic Tip and Tip Wrench can be sterilized together
using a Sterilization Case. Four Tip Wrenches and Tips can be set at once (Fig. 41).
1) Remove the Tip after use. (Refer to "7-2 Mounting the Tip.") Tip is set inside the
Tip Wrench.
2) Set the Tip Wrench with Tip attached into the Sterilization Case.

• Sterilization Case cannot be used for the Powder Handpiece.
• Do not autoclave the product with other instruments even when it is in a pouch. This is to prevent possible discoloration and
CAUTION
damage to the product from chemical residue on other instruments.
• Keep the product in suitable atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, ventilation, and sunlight. The air should be free from
dust, salt and sulphur.
• If the sterilizer chamber temperature may exceed 135˚C during the dry cycle then delete the dry cycle.
• Autoclave sterilization is recommended for the product. The validity of other sterilization methods is not confirmed.
• Do not autoclave the Handpiece Cord and the O-Ring. Disinfect the Handpiece Cord with a cloth soaked in alcohol after every
patient.
• Do not use high acid water or sterilizing solutions to wipe, immerse or clean the product.
NOTICE • NSK recommends Class B sterilizers as stated in EN13060.
• Repeated autoclaving may cause the ultrasonic handpiece to become discolored due to heat. However, this is due to properties
of the product and is not a problem in terms of quality.
9-4 Cleaning the Chamber and Hose
1) Perform Auto-Cleaning before cleaning the Chamber to release residual powder
and water from the inside of the Handpiece and Handpiece Hose.
2) Release the pressure remaining in the Chamber. (Refer to "8-6-4 Releasing
residual pressure".)
3) Push the Lock Button to remove the Chamber. Then pull up the Chamber straight
(Fig. 42).
4) Open the Chamber Cap and remove the residual powder.
5) Loosen the Handpiece Hose Connector nut and remove the Hose from the
Chamber.
6) Remove the residual powder from the Chamber using air, etc.
7) Wipe the Hose to remove powder, etc.
8) Use the supplied Cleaning Brush to remove powder from the Connectors on both
ends of the Handpiece Hose and the Handpiece Hose Connector Socket of the
Chamber.
• Medicinal solution, solvents, etc. adhering to the Chamber or the Chamber Cap may cause damage.
• Be sure to clean the Chamber after each use. Powder remaining in the Chamber may solidify and cause clogging.
WARNING
• Never use the Chamber Cap if it is cracked or scratched. Using in this condition may result in damage or injury from broken
pieces.
• If a failure occurs in the Chamber, be sure to contact your Authorized NSK Dealer for repairs.
• After use, always thoroughly remove powder from the inside of the Chamber and clean the Chamber before storage.
CAUTION
• Do not wash the Chamber. Doing so may cause the powder to solidify, resulting in clogging.
• Perform the operation in "8-6-4 Releasing residual pressure" before removing the Chamber. If you do not do so, the Chamber
Cap cannot be opened. The Chamber Cap may pop off if you try to force it open.
