4.5.3 Selection of transmission mode

The SW164OSM matrix and KEYPLUS and DCS2 control keyboards communicate via RS232 or
Current Loop. The selection of the communication mode is carried out in a different way on the
matrix and on the keyboards :
• matrix : identify in the picture of the previous page the jumpers JP1 and JP2, and position
them accordingly.
• keyboards : follow the procedure shown in the corresponding User Manual recalling the menu
2.1 Matrix-Communications.
The factory set transmission mode is RS232.

4.5.4 Communication baudrate selection

The matrix and the keyboards must have the same communication baudrate:
• matrix : the picture on the previous page shows the dip-switch SW1; set switches 3 and 4
according to the following table (switches 1 and 2 are not used) :

• keyboard: see the respective User Manual.
The factory set speed is 9600 baud.

4.5.5 Adding ID07 boards

The optional ID07 boards on outputs 2, 3 and 4, allow video identification texts. The output
number 1 is already provided with an onboard character generator and therefore does not need
an ID07 card. The output number 4 does not allow controlling the corresponding ID07 optional
card, if the VTR trigger is enabled.
A connector is provided for each card (E1, E2 and E3, respectively for outputs 2, 3 and 4) together
with an activation jumper (JP3, JP4 and JP5).
Warning ! The adding of ID07 boards must be carried out with matrix off and the power
supply disconnected.
Position properly the jumpers JP3, JP4 and JP5 (towards the left if the ID07 cards are present,
towards right if they are not used) and proceed to add the boards in the corresponding connectors
(E1, E2 and E3).

4.5.6 Text colour adjustment

Warning ! The colour adjustment must be carried out only by technical staff.
For this adjustment, the matrix must be in operation, therefore there is a risk of contact with
powered parts.
Remove the cover and turn the matrix on.
Apply a monitor on the output to be checked and switch to an active video input.
The adjustment of the text colour is carried out on trimmers T1 and T2. Proceed with the
adjustment directly on the matrix (only for the output number 1) and on the corresponding ID07
cards (for outputs 2, 3 and 4).
