5.Maintenance & failures

General maintenance

The motors in the fans of the KLVV cassette
air heater are maintenance-free and need
not be lubricated.
The interior of the unit may be cleaned using
compressed air. Do not direct the jet at the
fans, as the bearings of the motor may be
damaged.
The exterior of the unit may be cleaned
using an all-purpose cleaner.

Cleaning filters

The KLVV cassette air heater has two filters
– a flat filter for recirculation air and a bag-
type filter for ventilation air. Both filters
must be regularly cleaned – on the average,
two times a year. The real cleaning
frequency is dependent on the operating
environment.
1. Open both grilles.
2. Take the flat filter from the unit.
3. Move the filter inspection panel.
4. Take the bag-type filter from the unit.
5. Clean both filters with a vacuum cleaner
or with compressed air.
– You may also wish to install new filters.
Contact Biddle (address details on the back)
to order one or more filters. Please state item
number and quantity:
- 5601150: bag-type filter (G4)
- 5601160: flat filter (G1)
6. Replace the filters and the filter inspection
panel.
7. Close the grilles.

• Disconnect the power to the unit before
remedying any failure.
Table 5.1 provides an overview of failures

indicated what the cause may be and how
the failure may be remedied.
Refer also to the troubleshooting table in
the manual "Touch Control".
Contact Biddle if you are not sure how to
remedy any failure.

Disposing of unit
